Whananaki Spring Clean-Out 26
What started as a good old-fashioned community clean-out is rapidly turning into a wonderfully eclectic little Whananaki day. ❤️
The Whananaki Spring Clean-Out is a chance to clear out the cupboards, garage, wardrobe or shed, load up the car and turn those no-longer-needed treasures into somebody else’s find.
Expect a colourful mix of car boots, indoor and outdoor stalls, pre-loved clothing, household bits and pieces, tools, toys, books, plants, collectables, handmade goods and whatever else turns up on the day. Come for a fossick, find a bargain, catch up with people and make a morning of it.
But because apparently a normal clean-out wasn’t quite enough… we’ve started adding a few other things into the mix. 😂
There’ll be live music, plus our Clay Station, where young and old can get their hands into locally supplied Whananaki clay and mould, squish and create whatever takes their fancy. No experience required and questionable creations are absolutely welcome.
We’re also inviting the community to Take a Seat and help transform old wooden chairs with colour, artwork and positive messages. Once finished and weatherproofed, we hope — subject to Council approval — to place them around Whananaki over summer for locals and visitors to discover and enjoy.
And there are still a few more surprises to come. 👀
Most of all, this is about getting people together, having a bit of fun and seeing what happens when the community brings its own ideas to the day.
Young, old, locals, visitors, bargain hunters, makers, creators and curious people — everyone’s welcome.
And if you’d rather be part of the action, there’s still room for more stallholders. Bring your pre-loved treasures, plants, creations, handmade goods or whatever you’ve got to share or sell.
