Whananaki South Beach

Whananaki South Beach – A long, natural sandy shoreline near the peaceful village of Whananaki, this beach stretches for nearly 2 km of mostly untouched sand and gentle surf. It’s a great place for seaside walks, beachcombing and taking in wide ocean views along the Tutukaka Coast, with the iconic Whananaki footbridge nearby linking North and South across the tidal estuary. The water usually rises gradually, making it pleasant for paddling and wading at many tides, but conditions can change quickly with wind and swell off the open Pacific, so always be aware of surf and currents if you’re swimming or exploring the shore.
