Whakapaumahara Marae ~ A Hub for Whānau and Community

Whakapaumahara Marae, located in Whananāki, is a vibrant centre for the hapū Te Whānau Whero, Te Akitai, and Ngāti Rehua, as well as the wider Whananāki community and visiting manuhiri. The marae provides a safe and welcoming space that strengthens whānaungatanga (relationships), nurtures cultural wellbeing, and fosters community spirit.

The marae is available for event hire, hosting a wide range of activities including tangihanga, unveilings, wānanga, hui, and celebrations. It serves as a focal gathering point where hapū, whānau, and community members can come together to celebrate, learn, and support one another.
