The Hikurangi Community Shed is more than just a workshop ~ it’s a welcoming space where people of all ages and skill levels come together to create, learn, and connect. Whether you’re passionate about hands-on projects, curious to try something new, or simply looking for a friendly place to spend some time, the Shed has something for everyone.

Members are encouraged to get involved in a wide range of activities, from working on community projects that benefit the local area, to pursuing personal creations, or learning practical skills from others. It’s a place where ideas are shared freely, skills are passed on, and creativity is encouraged. You can roll up your sleeves, lend a hand, and see your projects come to life ~ or simply come along for a chat, enjoy a cuppa, and see what others are making.

The Shed is all about connection. It’s an environment where people support each other, share knowledge, and work together to make things happen. Whether you’re an experienced maker or just starting out, you’ll find a warm, welcoming atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to learn, experiment, and contribute.

Everyone is welcome ~ locals, visitors, hobbyists, and makers of all kinds. It’s a community hub where creativity meets camaraderie, and where even the simplest projects are celebrated.

The Hikurangi Community Shed is open every Sunday from 1.30 pm to 3.00 pm. Come along, get involved, and see what’s happening!

Hikurangi Community Shed – Est. October 2024

With support from the crew at the Kerikeri Men’s Shed, the Hikurangi Community Shed became fully operational in 2024. Volunteers from the Hikurangi Community Shed received assistance in setting up the facility, including the manufacturing of three workbenches by members of the Kerikeri Men’s Shed, providing key infrastructure as the Shed established itself within the local community.
